More On Eid...

"October 23 is the last day of Ramadan. In the early morning hours of October 24, mosques will be filled to overflowing. Many Muslims will gather to pray in public squares and in the streets in front of the mosques. After prayer, they will don new clothes, put out the holiday foods prepared for this special day, and either welcome visitors into their homes or be visitors in the homes of others. Children will visit their parents and grandparents, asking for forgiveness and seeking reconciliation for any wrongs committed in the past year. Younger brothers and sisters will visit their older siblings to show honor and to reconcile any differences that separate them. Friends and neighbors will then exchange visits. This holiday time, known as “I’d ul Fitr,” is a time of new beginnings, when Muslims try to start the new year with a clean slate. Praise the Lord that He is the God of new beginnings. He alone has provided true forgiveness and reconciliation through Jesus Christ. Pray for Muslims to understand that forgiveness is only available through Jesus Christ. Pray that they will recognize their inability to cover the debt caused by their sin. Pray for them understand their need of a Redeemer who can forgive their sins and reconcile them to God.
