Brenda and Sheri Ann are surveying the eggplant. Just the fact that the food was on a table and not on the ground ranked this market much higher than the markets in Haiti that I frequented. But there was also much more variety and better quality. In general, though, the prices were quite a bit higher. I mean, I paid over $1.50US for an avocado here and in Haiti I could have had over 2 dozen for that price!
