Well, it is official that the IMB is partnering with the Caribbean Baptist Fellowship to participate in the World Cup Cricket 2007 games being held in the Caribbean. The CBF Missions department will take the leadership in coordinating the project. A general coordinator will be selected and will be the team leader to work with national coordinating teams. These teams will be responsible to plan and execute evangelism activities during the games.

Our workers have suggested that we will do whatever we can to make this a successful venture. They offered to recruit a team of volunteer consultants (including myself and someone with more experience) to give suggestions and make recommendations relative to evangelism activities to be engaged in during the games. These consultants will need to meet with the coordinating team by November.

IMB also agreed to recruit a number of volunteers to participate in evangelism training as well as to participate with national partners in the actual evangelism activities. We are hoping to begin Evangelism training as soon as the national teams are ready. We are estimating that we will need about 200-300 volunteers during the course of the games.

We want do whatever we can to lend our support to our Caribbean partners to make this evangelism and global missions effort a success. This is one of the opportunities we must maximize in order to mobilize the resources in the harvest. Our prayer is that this project will be such a great success that our partners will be willing to embrace the vision of a CPM in our region.

That is about all we know at the moment. Be in prayer for me and my leaders as we try to figure out my role in all this and how exactly it will all unfold. I miss Kentucky and all my friends and family there dearly but I am thinking I can get at least a little time there soon and this seems like to good of an opportunity for me to pass up. There are going to be people from all over the world coming right here!
