I tried several times and this was the best picture I could get of this little girl building a fire. This is the typical Haitian stove, 3 rocks on the ground. The big round bottom pan they use is sitting behind her. You may wonder how the kids can be around the fire so much and not get burned- but they are. We see burned kids all the time. It is still amazing to me though to see the little kids like this one working away.
